But after one second of that, it takes me back to the Home Screen, blank screen, desktop, then Home Screen again in loop. After a couple of seconds, the screen turns black with the outline of the gray taskbar at the bottom of the screen, as if the desktop app is trying to start. I only had a split second to look at this screen though, because then it took me to a screen with just a blank purple background.

Then when it took me to the Home Screen, I noticed that all my usual apps were gone. I put in my password and it took about 15-20 seconds to start up, a little longer than usual. It took me to the login screen like normal (no Windows 8 intro screens).

In retrospect, this seems like it was a stupid thing to do, because the next time I booted up the computer, it started acting funny,

I knew that wasn't right, so I switched the computer off by holding down the power button. When it restarted, it gave me the screens as if I was starting up a new computer intro screens on how to use Windows 8 and such. Then it asked me to restart my computer, which I did. I had AVG Free 2013, and when it prompted me to install the latest update to AVG 2014, I did so. So it's exclusive to Windows 10.ĭo a clean install.I've got an issue with the Windows 8 interface that I'm pretty sure was caused by me installing the latest version of my antivirus program, AVG. As well as writing and other programs I use where it flashes and causes me to screw up. I'm trying to read something, and suddenly it flashes and I lose where I am. I've searched for fixes, but none exist, and from another post I have seen on another website, this is a bug that is still occurring with all Windows 10 builds. I don't understand what's causing this, it happens every 0.1-5 minutes, it just flashes randomly, I can't quite see what it is that's flashing, it looks like a grey pixelated mess to me. I run at the same time: Google Chrome, Windows Explorer, Steam, Task Manager, GeForce Experience, GIMP 2.0 (Sometimes), Skype (Sometimes). Everything on my main monitor here except the task bar just flashes. It seems to happen after I render a video in Sony Vegas 12, or open up Dxtory(This happens rarely with Dxtory) it keeps flickering for no reason. Wasn't the case, this is a new bug which Microsoft hasn't acknowledged, I've seen at least five users with this bug on older builds of Windows 10, I've got the latest of course because mine was the free upgrade. I assumed it would fix itself in the system's operating system updates, but nope. It's been happening since the Windows 10 update.
